Police sort through conflicting statements after shooting

FORT WORTH -- A man was shot in the leg early Saturday at a southwest Fort Worth apartment complex, and police are trying to sort out what led to the gunplay.

The man's identity was not released. His injury is not believed to be life-threatening, Lt. Paul Henderson said.

Police were called to the 5700 block of Oakleaf Drive, just south of Hulen Mall, just after 3 a.m.

The victim said he had been shot in the parking lot of a nearby club. But a witness told police the man had been shot by a resident of the apartment, Henderson said.

One of the apartment residents involved was arrested for aggravated assault based on statements given to detectives, Henderson said. His name wasn't available.

Detectives say the men involved aren't cooperating with the investigation.
