PARKER COUNTY -- A 22-year-old Fort Worth man arrested earlier this week for trying to solicit sex from a 13-year girl also faces charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child after she told investigators that the two had previously had sex.
Johnathan Eugene Cooper was arrested early Monday after deputies spotted him pulling up to the victim's residence near FM730, south of Azle.
The girl’s mother had contacted the Parker County Sheriff's Office after learning of a text message believed to have been sent by Cooper to her daughter.
"Deputies observed sexually explicit text messages on the girl’s phone and determined that the suspect arrived for purposes of a sexual encounter," the department states in a news release issued Thursday.

Cooper was booked into the Parker County jail on suspicion of online solicitation of a minor. Bail was set at $20,000.
In the ensuing investigation, the 13-year-old made sexual assault allegations against Cooper, the release states. The release states Cooper contacted the girl on Oct. 17 and then drove to her home.
"The suspect apparently enticed the victim to go for a ride in his car and then drove to a secluded location in the area where he is accused of sexual intercourse with her," the release states.
Based on her outcry, Cooper now faces a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child as well. Bail in that case was set at $50,000.
Investigators conducted a search of Cooper's Fort Worth home Tuesday and seized his personal computer, the release states.
