A 31-year-old construction worker was injured Friday after falling more than 50 feet from scaffolding near the University of Texas at Arlington. The man fell at a construction site in the 900 block of Benge Street.
The man was apparently working around an elevator shaft of a new apartment complex. The area where the man fell is described as hard dirt, said Arlington fire Lt. Warren Muncy.
The worker, who was conscious, was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital by helicopter ambulance.
His condition was not immediately available.
