IRVING -- Police appealed for help Thursday to identify a motorist who left the scene of a Saturday afternoon accident where a Dallas woman was hit by a car as she crossed a street.
The 50-year-old woman, who was not identified, was severely injured and remained at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.
Police believe several residents were standing near the scene who may have witnessed the accident or seen the car.
The accident happened about 5:40 p.m. Saturday in the 3200 block of Walnut Hill Lane, just east of Beltline Road.

The woman was attempting to cross Walnut Hill Lane when she was hit by a car, police said. The car fled the scene, leaving the woman laying in the street, police said.
