Parker County authorities have arrested a man in connection with the weekend shootings of six livestock.
Jared Andrew Spruce, 27, of Benbrook, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of criminal mischief after investigators searched the home where he had been staying.
He was being held on $100,000 bail.
Investigators removed a rifle from the home, as well as spent shell casings, authorities said.
Sheriff Larry Fowler said Thursday that investigators had not determined a motive for the shootings.
"I really have no idea," he said.
Someone shot seven head of livestock Sunday, killing four. Two had to be euthanized and one heifer was shot in the jaw and was expected to recover.
