Carrollton police look for boyfriend in woman's killing

CARROLLTON -- A severely beaten woman was found dead in a bathtub and police searched Monday for her boyfriend, authorities said.

The 28-year-old boyfriend also is accused of taking his girlfriend’s 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe, police said Monday.

The victim was identified as Maria Villanueva, 36, who was pronounced dead at her home in the 2500 block of Rosebud Court.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Juan Diego Delores Rodriguez.

Police were dispatched to Villanueva’s home shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday to an unknown emergency. Officers discovered Villanueva dead in the bathtub.

Hours before she was found dead, Villanueva and her boyfriend had been arguing, police said.

After searching the house, police were unable to find Villanueva's car which has Texas license plates DYN392. Police located the car abandoned on Monday in the 2100 block of LBJ Freeway in Irving.
