ARLINGTON -- The city is opening two more shelters Sunday in anticipation of receiving 200 more Hurricane Ike evacuees, an official said.
The residents are being relocated from a shelter in Tyler and are expected to arrive about 2 p.m., said Michael Nimocks, a city spokesman. Those people will be temporarily housed at the Saint Barnabus United Methodist Church and the Lake Arlington Baptist Church, he said.
The city's volunteer shelters will be at maximum capacity with the arrival of 200 more people, Nimocks said.
About 254 people are already staying at Grace Community Church and North Davis Church of Christ, he said.
