ARLINGTON -- The city has decided to postpone its Naturally Fun Neighborhoods event that had been scheduled Saturday at Don Misenhimer Park in southeast Arlington.
The city has not decided whether to reschedule the event this fall or next spring.
Hundreds of people were expected to attend the free event, which was going to feature activities such as fishing, bounce houses, arts and crafts, sports clinics and animal demonstrations by the Fort Worth Zoo. Saturday’s forecast, however, calls for thunderstorms and wind because of Hurricane Ike’s passage inland.
Another Naturally Fun event at Vandergriff Park, 2800 S. Center St., is still scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 21. Activities include archery and autograph signings by former Texas Rangers third baseman Steve Buechele.
