A Dallas police officer was recovering at home Tuesday afternoon after he was treated at a hospital for injuries he received when he was pinned in his squad car during a collision with a tractor-trailer rig, police said.
Sgt. Clarence Wooten was hurt at about 5:30 a.m. at the Interstate 20 access road and Lancaster Road in southern Dallas County as he was responding to a burglary call, police said.
Wooten was not seriously injured, but firefighters had to free him from the vehicle. He was alert and responsive when emergency responders arrived, according to reports.
Traffic at the intersection was diverted while police investigated the crash.
