FORT WORTH -- A man riding a bike was transported to the hospital in critical condition Friday after running a stop sign late this afternoon and being struck by a car, police said.
A witness told police that the man, whom officers didn't identify Friday, was traveling south on Inwood Road about 4:15 p.m. when he ran a stop sign at the intersection at South Drive and was struck by a westbound Ford Focus, said Sgt. Preston Walker, a police supervisor.
Walker said the man regularly rides his bike in the neighborhood but the spokesman didn't have any other information about him.
The man was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital by ground ambulance, Walker said.
