A man died early Friday at a Fort Worth hospital after he was found in the roadway of Interstate 30.
Gerald Penson, 25, of Fort Worth was identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner's office.
His body was found about 12:45 a.m. on I-30, near the intersection of U.S. 287, east of the downtown area.
"It appeared the man was hit by a vehicle," said Lt. Paul Henderson, police spokesman. "However, no one was on the scene."

The man was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he later died from his injuries, Henderson said.
He added that anyone with information about "suspects or suspect vehicles" should call police traffic investigators at 817-871-7110.
