Arlington motorcycle officers hurt in crash

ARLINGTON -- Two Arlington motorcycle officers were injured Wednesday after they collided with each other while on escort duty, police said.

Officers Steve Broadstreet and Toby Douglass were taken to Arlington area hospitals with minor injuries.

Shortly before 1 p.m., the officers were escorting two wide-load 18 wheelers that were carrying large control boxes to a power plant station on Road to Six Flags when the crash occurred. The crash temporarily shut down Road to Six Flags and Miracle Mile Street shortly before the Texas Rangers game against the Seattle Mariners at nearby Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The trucks were escorted from south Cooper Street to an Oncor station adjacent to Six Flags amusement park.

The plant will supply power to the new Dallas Cowboys football stadium.
