Police seek suspect in DFW Auto Zone robberies

GRAND PRAIRIE -- Police departments in several Dallas/Fort Worth area cities are looking for an armed robber who has targeted several Auto Zones auto parts stores in July and August.

Grand Prairie police Tuesday morning released an image of the robber that was captured on a surveillance camera inside a Auto Zone store in that city.

The man shown in the image is wearing a blue and white backpack and one white sock. He is described as 5-feet-9 inches tall and between the ages of 20 and 35. Police said he carries a 9 mm handgun.

The suspect seems to know the location of the cash storage devices and safes, according to Grand Prairie Police. Demands given to the victims at the stores were similar, police added.

Store locations robbed include Arlington, Euless, Hurst, Irving, Lancaster and Duncanville.

Auto Zone officials are offering a $3000 reward for the arrest and indictment of the suspect.
