IRVING -- The Dallas Cowboys released former TCU cornerback Quincy Butler, Stanford rookie punter Jay Ottovegio, Midwestern State rookie wide receiver Daniel Polk and quarterback Jeff Terrell.
The Cowboys also reached an injury settlement with fullback Ronnie Cruz. Cruz suffered a dislocated left shoulder in the first half of a preseason game against Denver. The third-year veteran spent two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs before signing with the Cowboys.
Butler, who has been slowed by a hamstring injury during training camp, spent all of the 2007 season on the Cowboys practice squad.
With the cuts, the Cowboys have 75 players on their roster. They must reduce their roster to 53 on Saturday.
