Three teenage girls who were thought to be missing in Fossil Creek notified authorities late Monday that they were safe, a Haltom City fire spokesman said.
Haltom City activated its emergency notification system with a message about the girls about 10 p.m., and within 20 minutes, the girls' families reported that the girls were home, said Fred Knapp, Haltom City's deputy fire chief.
Firefighters began searching for girls about 7:30 p.m after someone saw them floating down the creek on inflatable cushions.
