Police are investigating the slaying of a man late Wednesday in southeast Dallas.
Officers were called at 8:45 p.m. to a report of gunfire at a home at 2700 Lenway Street, according to reports.
"A group of men, about seven-to-nine of them, were standing outside in front of a residence," said Senior Cpl. Janice Crowther, police spokeswoman. "Shots rang out and a (man) was shot."
The victim was identified as Tabaras Taylor, 32, by the Dallas County medical examiner's office. He lived at the home where the shooting happened, according to a police report.

He had a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Baylor Medical Center, but he could not be saved, police said.
"An abandoned vehicle was parked out in front of the residence on the street," Crowther said. "The car sustained bullet holes and was left running."
The motive behind the shooting was unclear and no arrests were reported early Thursday.
