A 23-year-old man said he was escaping an unknown attacker when he threw his toddler from a three-story apartment complex into some bushes, police officials said.
Jimmy Jackson said that about 3:45 p.m. Sunday, he felt like someone was after him and his 20-month old son.
He took his son from their second-story apartment in the 800 block of Central Drive into a crawlspace in the attic, police said.
Police said there were no witnesses or anything else supporting Jackson's claim.

After spending an undetermined amount of time in the crawlspace, Jackson kicked out an air vent and dropped his son into bushes about 20 feet below, police said.
The child sustained minor injuries, including having a temperature from the heat, and was taken to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth.
Jackson was arrested by Bedford police on suspicion of injury to a child and released on a $5,000 bond.
Jackson reportedly told police he had recently used methamphetamine and hadn't slept in two days.
