A man who had been sitting on a ramp over Interstate 35W, forcing the closure of a lane of southbound traffic on the highway surrendered to police shortly before 7:30 p.m.
The unidentified man swung his leg over the ledge at 7:27 p.m. and walked about 50 feet back to a line of squad cars accompanied unhandcuffed by a group of Fort Worth police officers.
Once he got to the squad cars parked on the ramp, standing amid a crowd of officers, he hugged one officer and then put his hands in the air and then on top of a squad car and was frisked and handcuffed.
The man was taken away in a police car.
