Fort Worth child critically hurt by falling TV

FORT WORTH -- A 2-year-old boy remained in critical condition Wednesday afternoon from injuries suffered Tuesday night when a television apparently fell onto his head inside his southeast Fort Worth home, police and hospital officials said.

The mother of Adrian Larsen Simmons told police that her son had just gone into a bedroom of their home in the 3600 block of Donalee Street to watch television about 7:30 p.m. when she heard a loud bang, according to a police report.

The mother said she ran into the room to find her son unconscious on the ground, bleeding from the head and ears.

The report stated that a television, and a four-foot dresser that the television sat upon, had apparently fallen to the floor, striking the boy in the head.

The mother told police she tried to stop the bleeding with a shirt while her husband ran to a neighbor’s house to call police.

The boy was taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center where he remains.
