It looked like a pipe, and that's exactly what it was.
The city's bomb squad and police investigated what was initially called an "item" on a service road for Interstate 35W in far north Fort Worth, according to reports. They were called to the location at 7:56 a.m., the reports stated.
"Somebody saw a piece a pipe, so they went up to take a look it at," said Lt. Kent Worley, fire department spokesman. "It looked like a pipe with an end cap on it and that's what it turned out to be. There was nothing suspicious about it at all."
The location was near I35W's intersection with Keller-Hicks Road.
