An 8-year-old girl was severely burned late Tuesday in Arlington, according to an initial report.
The report stated that the child had been playing with a lighter, which set the couch ablaze at the her family's home in the 3600 block of Trail Brush Drive.
A fire investigator said Wednesday morning that the girl's shirt then caught on fire.
The neighborhood is in far east Arlington, northwest of the intersection of Texas 360 and Interstate 20.

A helicopter ambulance took the girl to the burn unit at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.
No other information was immediately available Tuesday morning.
