A mandatory burn ban was issued Tuesday in Denton County for all outdoor burning including restrictions on workers using welders and cutting torches.
Low humidity, high winds and dried vegetation from the lack of rainfall have contributed to the risk of wildfires throughout Denton County, officials said Tuesday.
The burning ban begins Tuesday and will continue until drought conditions lessen.
The ban includes discarding of cigarettes, use of all fireworks and the outdoor burning of combustible materials.
