Fort Worth police issue warning about card thefts

FORT WORTH -- Police issued a warning Friday to people who leave their purses and wallets in parked cars around Lake Worth and the Trinity Trail.

Thieves are breaking into vehicles and using stolen credit and debit cards to buy merchandise at businesses around Jacksboro Highway and Loop 820, said Lt. Paul Henderson, a police spokesman.

Police released a photo Friday of one suspect with the hope that someone could identify her.

The thieves have struck at least four times and have targeted vehicles in the 7900 block of Cahoba Drive around Lake Worth and the 3000 block of Bryant Irvin Road near the Trinity Trail, he said.

Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call Detective J.E. Pruitt at 817-392-4716 or CrimeStoppers at 800-469-TIPS. All calls are confidential.
