Dallas police are searching a park in the Pleasant Grove area for two men who they said shot at officers pursuing them following a robbery at a convenience store, according to reports.
The incident started at about 2 a.m., KDFW Channel 4 reported, when an off-duty police officer noticed a car with an ATM in the trunk.
Police said the ATM was stolen from a convenience store in the 200 block of Hall Road in Seagoville, where the clerk was held at gunpoint during the robber, the station reported.
Officers attempted to stop the car and then pursued the four men in a red Chevrolet Caprice into the Pleasant Grove area where the car crashed, KXAS Channel 5 reported. During the pursuit, the men fired shots at officers.
Police were able to capture two of the men, but were using a helicopter and dogs to assist tactical officers in the search near Jim Miller Road and Bruton Road, Channel 4 reported.
