GRAPEVINE -- An early Sunday morning fire at Bethel Baptist Church started in a porch, causing $50,000 damage to the church, a fire official said Tuesday.
But fire investigators had not ruled on how the blaze started.
Debris had been sent in to be tested and results should be completed in a few days, Grapevine fire investigator Craig Reed said Tuesday.
The fire was reported shortly before 12:30 a.m. Sunday at the church in the 1200 block of Hilltop Drive.

Reed said Tuesday that the blaze started in an enclosed porch, but there was no door to it.
Despite the fire, Bethel’s 80 to 100 members held services on Sunday.
