Arlington school trustees to discuss superintendent's status Thursday

ARLINGTON -- Arlington school trustees could put Superintendent Hector Montenegro on paid administrative leave later this week.

Trustees consulted with attorneys in executive session Monday. After several hours behind closed doors, school board president Jim Ash posted a public notice for a special meeting at 9 p.m. Thursday.

According to the notice, trustees will "consider placing the superintendent on paid administrative leave during the continued review of superintendent's compliance with state laws and district requirements, concerning honorariums, travel expenses and other expenses."

If necessary, trustees will also consider the appointment of an interim superintendent, the notice states.
