Man fatally shot in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH -- Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man early Thursday outside a bar in the 3500 block of Hemphill Street, according to reports.

Homicide detectives believe robbery may have been the motive in the shooting, said Lt. Chris Beckrich.

Police were called at 1:48 a.m. to the El Sombrero Bar, 3524 Hemphill St., near the intersection with West Ripy Street.

The victim was dead at the scene. Beckrich declined to release his name until after his family was notified.

Several witnesses were interviewed at police headquarters, Beckrich said. No arrests were reported.
