Dallas officials determine bag did not hold a fetus

Forensic experts in Dallas have determined that there was no human fetus in a black plastic bag that was found Tuesday outside a business in northwest Dallas.

"Non human remains," was the conclusion reached by the Dallas County medical examiner's office, a staff member said.

The actual contents would probably remain a mystery, the staffer said, because the bag appeared to have been in the heat for at least three days.

Senior Cpl. Janice Crowther, police spokeswoman, said Tuesday that the bag was found by the owner of a business in the 10000 block of Shady Trail. The area is east of where Interstate 35E merges with Loop 12 in northwest Dallas.

The businessman called police, who responded with members of Dallas Fire-Rescue and the Dallas County medical examiner's office.
