Rather than face further discipline by the Texas Medical Board, Fort Worth osteopath Billy Houston Puryear has agreed to surrender his medical license, the board announced Monday.
In April 2007, the board had restricted Puryear's licensed following allegations that he failed to meet the standard of care for 11 patients. Among the complaints was inappropriate use of controlled substances to treat patients, the board said.
He was among 92 doctors disciplined by the state board at its most recent meeting. Read more at www.tmb.state.tx.us
