Wrecks snarl traffic on east and west sides of Fort Worth

Traffic was clogged early Tuesday on the west side of Fort Worth because of an accident on eastbound Interstate 30 at Alemeda Street, according to a police report.

The accident, which was reported at 6:41 a.m., involved a gray pickup striking a guardrail and it was blocking a left lane, the report stated.

The wreckage was cleared by 8 a.m., but traffic was clenched and slowly unwinding from West Loop 820 to the area around Ridgmar Mall.

No injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, traffic was unwinding at 7:30 a.m. on westbound Interstate 20 in Forest Hill following a quadruple-injury accident.

The wreck reportedly involved two tractor-trailers, according to broadcast reports.

It was located between the intersections with Anglin Drive and Hartman Road, reported.

Four people were taken to John Peter Smith Hospital, said a dispatcher for MedStar Ambulance Service.
