Fort Worth boy loses part of leg in train accident

FORT WORTH -- A 7-year-old boy’s leg was partially amputated Sunday afternoon when he slipped under a train while playing on some tracks, according to a police report.

Anthony Bell, whose left leg was severed below the knee in the accident, was taken to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas where he was listed in good condition Monday.

The report stated that Anthony has been playing on the tracks in the 300 block of N. Harding St., behind his babysitter’s home, when he fell beneath the train about 2:35 p.m..

The crimes against children unit will investigate.
