FORT WORTH -- A 41-year-old Fort Worth man died after the car he and his infant son were riding in was broadsided by a van in unincorporated Tarrant County, sheriff’s officials said.
Liam Iwig-O’Byrne was pronounced dead at John Peter Smith Hospital at 12:06 p.m., about an hour after the wreck.
According to Chief Deputy Jay Six with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department, Iwig-O’Byrne had been traveling north on Levy County Line when he pulled his Mitsubishi in front of a Ford Van traveling east on Retta Mansfield Road.
“We don’t know whether he ran the stop sign or whether he stopped and pulled out but he did not yield the right of way (to the van),” Six said.
