Traffic was snarled this morning on Interstate 35E in southeast Denton County as emergency crews responded to a pickup truck submerged in Lake Lewisville, but it was no rescue operation.
The truck had been stripped and then dumped in the lake and no one had to be rescued from the water, said Lewisville Police Sgt. Dave Porter.
Therefore it was a recovery effort, not a rescue.
Nevertheless, traffic was backed up from the foot of the Lewisville bridge at Copperas Branch Drive south into Carrollton, about five miles, until the truck was finally removed.
