ARLINGTON -- Child Protective Services awarded temporary custody of a 2-year-old girl and her siblings to their grandfather on Friday.
Ty’tianna Weatherspoon, her 10-year-old brother and 7-year-old sister have been in the foster-care system since Oct. 21, when the toddler slipped out of the back door of her east Arlington home and strolled two blocks away without her family’s knowledge.
The toddler was found walking in the middle of Browning Drive about 7:30 p.m., authorities said. The family's oldest child, a 13-year-old girl, already lives with the grandfather in Dallas County.
Child Protective Services will offer the grandfather whatever help he needs to take care of the four children, said Marissa Gonzales, CPS spokeswoman. It could take up to a year for the case to be permanently resolved, Gonzales said.

"We are still planning on cooperating with the parents and getting them the services that will help them be reunited as a family," Gonzales said.
