The woman was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo eastbound on the freeway when she lost control of the vehicle and hit a guardrail. Police had not determined what caused her to lose control of the car.
On impact, the car spun off the freeway and slammed passenger-sideways into a pole, police said. Thelitz was a front-seat passenger, police said.
