About 2:30 pm. Sunday, a motorist was killed in the 2500 block of Alliance Gateway in far north Fort Worth after hitting a guardrail and driving into the back of an 18-wheeler, police officials said.
Jose Padilla, a 40-year-old Keller resident, was eastbound on Alliance Gateway in his silver Ford F-150 when it struck a guardrail. This sent the truck into the back of an eastbound 18-wheeler, ultimately pinning the hood of the truck under the 18-wheeler’s undercarriage.
There were five passengers, including three children. All were injured. The children were taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center, and their mother was taken to Harris Methodist Fort Worth. Another man was treated and released on the scene. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
Police are investigating, but don’t expect criminal charges to be filed in connection with the crash, said Fort Worth police Sgt. Rodney Bangs.
