A 3-year-old girl died early Sunday evening when she was struck by a minivan outside her family's home in the Pleasant Grove area of southeast Dallas.
Erryana Garza, 3, was identified by the Dallas County medical examiner's office.
The child was playing across the street from her home in the 200 block of Major Drive at about 7 p.m. when she darted into the street in front of the van, according to broadcast news reports.
The neighborhood is northwest of the intersection of South Buckner Boulevard with Bruton Road.

She was hit by the van, which was driven by an 18-year-old woman, KXAS Channel 5 reported.
She was taken to Baylor Medical Center, but she could not be saved, according to KXAS.
The driver of the van was not speeding, and police did not expect her to be charge the girl's death, the station reported.
However, KRLD News Radio reported that driver did not have a driver's license, so police expected she would be ticketed for that.
