BEDFORD -- A man whose truck rolled over him while he was working on it Wednesday suffered a collapsed lung, fractured ribs and numerous bruises, his wife said Thursday.
Jaye Mangrum, 42, remained in the trauma unit at Harris Methodist Fort Worth hospital Thursday but he was expected to recover, his wife, Kristie Mangrum, said in an e-mail to the Star-Telegram.
The accident happened shortly after 12:15 p.m. in the 900 block of Brown Trail. Part of the Dodge pickup's drive train was disconnected, and tools were found under the truck, said Lt. Kirk Roberts, a police spokesman.
An unidentified witness saw the accident and called 911, he said. In her e-mail, Kristie Mangrum said she would like to thank that person who also rendered first aid to her husband.
Mangrum was taken by helicopter ambulance to the Fort Worth hospital.
