A Garland police officer was seriously injured early Wednesday morning when he lost control of his patrol car and hit a large metal utility pole, according to reports.
The patrol car reportedly skidded on wet pavement near the intersection of Forest Lane and International Drive wehen another car turned in front of it. The unidentified officer reportedly was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to Methodist Hospital in Dallas.
KDFW Channel 4 reported that the officer was on his way to help another officer. His lights and siren were not on, according to the report. The station reported that rescuers had to cut the officer out of his damaged car.
