Surveillance shots show robbers of Fort Worth food store

FORT WORTH -- Police on Tuesday released surveillance images of two men who smashed the window of a south Fort Worth food store and robbed it at gunpoint.

Jimmy's Food Store was closed except for the drive-through at 1 a.m. Tuesday when a man threw "an object" through the front glass doors, said Lt. Paul Henderson, a police spokesman. The store is in the 1300 block of Sycamore School Road.

An employee saw that the man carried a handgun and ran into the restroom and locked the door, Henderson said. The video shows two men in the store, one of them grabbing cash from the register.

The robbers may be the same men who broke the glass doors and robbed a Wendy’s last week on West Seminary Drive, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbers is asked to call detectives at 817-392-4378 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-469-TIPS.
