A man who was gunned down late Thursday in southeast Fort Worth died later at John Peter Smith Hospital, police said.
No arrests were reported early Friday and the officers don't know the name of the victim, a black male, because he had no identification with him and he didn't tell anyone his name before he died, officials said.
The shooting was reported shortly after midnight at the C&D Kwik Stop in the 4100 block of Mansfield Highway, said Lt. Paul Henderson, police spokesman.
"Two guys were closing up the convenience store," Henderson said. "They actually heard several gunshots. The victim walked up and said, 'Call 911; I've been shot.'

"He immediately collapsed. He died at the hospital and so far, we still don't know who he is."
Witnesses said they saw a white four-door car, possibly a Pontiac, speed away from the scene, Henderson said.
Police searched for the car and possible suspects, but found nothing, Henderson said.
