FORT WORTH — A 13-year-old was fatally shot and a 14-year-old stabbed Wednesday evening inside a house in the 800 block of Buffalo Springs Drive in far southeast Fort Worth, police reported.
The 14-year-old told officers that he confronted the younger boy inside the house. The 13-year-old was carrying a knife and was intending to steal from the house, according to a news release from Lt. Paul Henderson, a police spokesman.
The teens fought, and the 13-year-old stabbed the older one, Henderson said. The 14-year-old then grabbed his father's handgun and shot the other teen several times, according to the news release.
The 14-year-old ran to a neighbor's house, where police were called about 5:30 p.m.

He was taken to Cook Children's Medical Center in stable condition, according to Henderson.
Outside the house Friday evening, a man who identified himself as B. J. White of Burleson, a grandfather of the 14-year-old, said the boy's name is Blake Graves, and he is a student at a Burleson Middle School.
Blake, who is 6 feet tall and weighs 300 pounds, was stabbed more than once in the abdomen, White said.
The dead teen's name was Danny Allen, according to Danika Allen, 16, who said she was the boy's sister.
"He told our mom he was going to return an Ipod to Blake," she said. "I can't believe this happened."
The resident of a nearby house, Charles McDonald, 73, said he was outside his house going to the garage when he heard a loud noise and then saw Blake running down the street.
"He was completely saturated in blood," McDonald said. "I stopped a lady who coming down the street and told her to call 911. I was trying to stop the bleeding."
Allen and McDonald said that Blake and Danny were friends.
