WESTLAKE -- Longtime Westlake resident Margaret Lee has donated $500,000 toward construction of a planned Arts and Sciences center for the town's charter school and the future theater inside the building will be named after her late husband, she said.
Town aldermen voted 5-0 on Monday to name the Samuel W. Lee Theatre in honor of the former developer and Roanoke native.
The couple lived in Westlake for decades before his death last year at age 87.
The naming is in honor and recognition of Samuel Lee, "who was a loyal, generous, honorable and supportive citizen" of Westlake, a town resolution said.
