A West Texas woman died late Sunday afternoon in traffic accident about a mile west of Weatherford, according to reports.
Anita Crumpton, 69, of Midland, died at the scene of the wreck, on Spur 312 in Parker County, according to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The woman was a passenger in a 2002 Chevrolet four-door car driven by Larry Crumpton, 70, also of Midland, the DPS said. Their car was westbound on the shoulder of the spur.
The driver "attempted to make a u-turn," which put the car in the path of an oncoming 2003 Mitsubisi Outlander driven by Evan Michelle Williams, 17, of Weatherford, according to the DPS

There was a collision, and both cars landed in a ditch, the DPS reported.
Larry Crumpton, the DPS said, was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth in "fair" condition with "possible incapacitating injuries."
He was listed in serious condition Monday at JPS, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Williams and a passenger in her car, Jenna Marie Ferrugia, 23, of Weatherford, were taken to Weatherford Regional Hospital "in good condition with minor injuries," the DPS said.
