FORT WORTH — A man was shot in his arm and shoulder late Friday after he argued with another man in the 3400 block of Avenue M, police said.
Two men, including the suspected shooter, were arrested after a brief stand-off a few houses away. Manuel Padron-Arreaga, 52, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Ramiro Padron, 54, was arrested for suspicion of assault.
The 43-year-old victim was taken to John Peter Smith hospital. Police said he was expected to survive.
The shooting occurred about 11:45 p.m., said Lt. Paul Henderson, a police spokesman. Investigators were told that the victim exchanged words with two suspects, prompting one of them to kick him in the face and the other to shoot him.

The suspects then ran inside a house, Henderson said.
Police surrounded the house and used a loudspeaker to convince three men to come out, he said. But police then learned a fourth man — believed to be the shooter — was still inside and refused to come out.
After SWAT officers arrived, the suspect changed his mind and walked outside with his hands up, he said.
