SOUTHLAKE -- Football season is months away, but Carroll Dragons fans have already started tailgating.
Folks parked their lawn chairs Tuesday and were prepared to stay overnight outside the Carroll school district administration building to score season tickets for next year's varsity home games at Dragon Stadium.
About 100 tickets are up for grabs at 8 a.m. Wednesday, but fans started lining up at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The other 1,500 season tickets were snapped up by people who held them last year.
The campers brought provisions: a gas generator to power laptops, grills for a bratwurst supper, coolers full of soda, a portable television to watch Dancing With the Stars.

Several people said they're getting tickets while their children are young because so few are available. They hope to trade up each year until they have prime seats.
"We knew if we didn't have tickets now, we'd be out of luck for when they were in high school," said Denise Stringfellow, the mother of a seventh-grader.
Mike Mills, who was first in line, brought a double air mattress to sleep on.
"We'll move the trash can and stretch out," he said.
