An unidentified man was taken to a Fort Worth hospital by helicopter early Wednesday after he was found lying near a bicycle in Burleson, according to reports.
Police believe the man was the victim of a hit-and-run accident, said Sally Ellertson, spokeswoman for the city of Burleson.
The accident was reported around 2:30 a.m. in the 700 block of North Burleson Boulevard, which is the west service road of Interstate 35W, Ellertson said.
"The bicyclist was headed south on the one-way, two-lane frontage road," Ellertson wrote in a news release. "According to officers at the scene, a passerby noticed an unidentified man lying near a bicycle on the service road.

"Police are seeking witnesses to the accident."
