A gas field worker was taken by helicopter to a Fort Worth hospital Monday following an injury in northwest Denton County, according to reports.
A CareFlite helicopter launched at about 10:10 a.m. to the site on Burns Ranch Road, west of Krum "for a reported explosion of unknown origin," according to a news release from the agency.
But Tom Reedy, spokesman for Denton County Sheriff's Office, said that subsequent reports indicated that there was no explosion.
"Someone said they heard something blow and something hit this guy and he got hurt," Reedy said.
