Firefighters rescued two dogs and a cat from a home in the 4900 block of Calmont Avenue Friday morning after a kitchen fire broke out while nobody was home, according to Lt. Kent Worley, fire department spokesman.
The fire, which did an estimated $30,000 in damage, was reported at 10:41 a.m.
The pets' owner, Kelly Swearingin, is the daughter of Justice of the Peace Ralph Swearingin and step-daughter of Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson.
