ARLINGTON -- Police have arrested a man who barricaded himself in a central Arlington home for about five hours Wednesday.
James Cook, 42, was wanted on a parole violation. Police attempted to serve an arrest warrant about 4:30 p.m. at the house in the 2000 block of Glenhaven Street, said police spokesman Lt. Blake Miller. Cook refused to come out, Miller said.
About 8 p.m., police fired a chemical agent into house, but Cook did not surrender. About 8:45 p.m., police sent a tactical robot through the front door and began clearing the rooms one by one. Cook was escorted out of the house about 9:30 pm. and was examined by medical personnel because of exposure to the chemical agent, Miller said.
